There's nothing better than a three day weekendbigstock-Workplace-with-tablet-pc-showi-56787887.jpg, but that euphoric feeling quickly fades when it's time to get back to work. Below, we're sharing a few tips for being productive after a long, holiday weekend.

Prep Before You Leave

Before unplugging for a long weekend, do a little extra work to set yourself up for productivity when you return. Check your schedule for the week you return. Space out meetings if possible, and build in time to take care of tasks like returning emails and checking in with team members. Having a schedule in place will help you relax while you're away.

Let Others Know You're Away

You might be spending an extra day resting and relaxing, but others will be at their desks. Be sure to let coworkers, clients, and work contacts know that you're away by creating an out of office auto response. Use the message to let others know when you'll be back and ask them to use the word "urgent"in their subject line if their message requires attention immediately after you return.

Schedule Social Media

For those who use social media as part of their job, scheduling is a life saver for a long weekend. Use a scheduling app to create and schedule posts with important updates that will automatically post while you're away and enjoying your time off.

Make a List and Prioritize

It's easy to become overwhelmed by tasks and responsibilities when you return from a long weekend. Save your sanity by getting your priorities in order first thing. Start by making a list of everything you need to accomplish during the week after your holiday weekend. Then, put those tasks in order of priority and focus on one at a time.

Make Your Team a Priority

If you're in charge of a group of people at work, be sure to check in with them after you all return from your long weekend. Use the time to regain focus and discuss what projects everyone should focus on, to get the group back on track.

The most important thing to remember during a long weekend is to enjoy you're time away from the office! Give yourself a break and you'll be more likely to come back feeling refreshed and ready to go.
