How to Generate Leads for Your Business

By ADTACK Marketing on June 29, 2015

The internet serves as a direct connection between your business and millions of consumers. Unfortunately, there are about a billion other entities trying to snatch people's attention away from your marketing efforts. This can make lead generation via the web seem impossible. If you know how to approach it, however, doing so isn't as difficult as you might think. Here are steps to generate online leads for your business:

Website Design

Launch a responsive website

Regardless of your company's size, industry or marketing goals, your website is the foundation upon which your online marketing campaign is built. How your website is designed matters. This affects everything from the consumer experience to your ability to get ranked higher on search engines. For optimal results, your website should incorporate a responsive web design. This not only makes it easier for people to interact with your site on any device, but Google has come out and said that they give this type of site preference on search results.

Make sure that everything you do ultimately points to your website

Your inbound marketing efforts should be executed with the goal of guiding leads to your website. All of your content should include topics that are relevant to your buyer persona. This will include problems that your company's products and services can solve; when a prospect moves to the next step, make sure it's directed to your site.

Prepare your website for all types of relevant traffic

When a consumer is funneled to your website, they will only take about .05 seconds to determine whether or not they want to stay. To make sure that they do stick around long enough to become a qualified sales lead, the page that they land on should be tailored to suit their needs. These are known as landing pages.

A landing page should be defined based off of the exact purpose of the channel that it is connected to. For example, if you are a hardware company with a blog post about DIY cabinet installation, then the post should link to a landing page that elaborates on the value of using the right tools, and emphasizes that your company is the best resource to acquire them.

There should be no limit to the amount of landing pages you have (i.e., if you have 10 pieces of content with a unique purpose, then you should have at least 10 unique landing pages).

By following these steps, your business will be on the path towards consistent online lead generation

This is just the basic framework that you should establish for successful lead generation online. To gain a comprehensive perspective of what you need to do in order to generate more leads via the web, download this FREE guide.
